We went to the dentist this morning. We were very scared. There were many children there and we had to wait a long time. It didn’t take long after I was called in as nothing needed to be done. After everyone had been seen we went back. It began to rain about half way. I had nothing to cover my head so had to use my pinafore as a hood. The rain got heavier and heavier so we took shelter in an archway. We looked like drowned rats when we got back to school. We went into the classroom and got our school bags because lessons were over that day.
Heute Vormittag gingen wir in die Zahnklinik. Wir hatten eine große Angst. Dort waren viele Kinder und wir mußten lange warten. Als ich aufgerufen wurde war ich gleich fertig denn ich hatte nichts zu richten. Nachdem alle fertig waren gingen wir wieder zurück. Auf dem halben Weg fing es an zu regnen. Ich hatte keine Kopfbedeckung und nun benützte ich meine Schürze als Haube. Der Regen wurde immer stärker und wir stellten uns unter einen Torbogen. Als wir ins Schulhaus kamen waren wir pudelnaß. Wir gingen in die Klasse und holten sich die Schultaschen, denn für heute war der Unterricht beendet.

Der Eisenbahner sagt: „Ich fahre die Züge mit Mehl, mit Korn, mit Milch, mit Kohlen von früh bis spät für euch.“
Alle zusammen: „Wir schaffen und werken zusammen. Dann gibt’s keine Not. Jeder hat Brot.“
Yesterday we went to Tulln to see my uncle. I was running to the yard to play when a dog came along. I marched down to the stream and splashed at him. He bit into the water furiously and then ran away barking. After dinner my cousin and I went to pick flowers. When we got tired we made our way back home. I spent the rest of my time with the animals. I was wearing a red pinafore and the bull stared right at me so I left the stable. And then it was time to go home.
Gestern fuhren wir zu meinem Onkel nach Tulln. Ich lief in den Hof spielen, da kam der Hund, ich marschierte zum Bach und spritzte ihn an. Vor Zorn biß er ins Wasser und lief dann bellend davon. Nach dem Essen ging ich mit meiner Cousine Blumen pflücken. Als wir müde waren machten wir uns auf den Heimweg. Mit der übrigen Zeit beschäftigten mich die Tiere. Ich hatte eine rote Schürze da glotzte der Stier mich an und ich verlies den Stall. Und nun war es Zeit zum Heimfahren.
