OUR MISSION
Our projects are aimed at using the contents of the Exercise Books Archive to revive local memory and promote the knowledge of local identities, valorize, and stimulate the active role of citizens in the production of culture (with a focus on new generations), and foster trans-cultural and trans-generational integration.
Exercise books are considered an important historical source and a powerful tool for the development of research in pedagogy and children’s psychology since they provide evidence of the everyday life of children in the past and of the evolution of educational models. In addition, the stories narrated in the school exercise books possess a very particular language, which can foster empathy and emotional involvement in non-specialized audiences.
