The day, long awaited by me and the girls who have spent the holidays, has finally arrived. I really wanted to go back to school and take advantage of every moment to study so that at the end of the school year I can make my parents happy; and since they do their best to be able to educate and teach us all that they can, we too must make sacrifices for them. Some girls remained in the city, others in the countryside like me; and others that have been more laborious and dedicated have not gone on holiday, even if it is useful to rest and distract a little. I cannot wait for tomorrow to go back to school and say hello to the young Miss and to the girls I have not seen for two months that feel like two years; I hope to achieve my resolutions so that in the future I can find a job as a house maid in a good family and can help my parents.
Ya ha llegado el dia tan esperado para mi, y para las niñas que hicieron las vacaciones. Tenía muchas ganas de volver al colegio y aprovechar todos los ratos que tenga en estudiar para que así a final de curso pueda dar una alegría a mis padres; y ya que ellos hacen los posibles para podernos educar y enseñar todo lo que pueden, nosostras tambien tenemos que sacrificarnos para ellos.
Hubieron niñas que se quedaron en la ciudad; otras en el campo como yo misma; y otras que fueron más trabajadoras y aplicadas; esas no hicieron las vacaciones, pero también conviene un poco de reposo y de distracción.
Estoy esperando el día próximo para volver a colegio y para saludar a la señorita y a las niñas que hace dos meses qu no las he visto y me parecen dos años; esperando poder realizar mis buenos propósitos para que así el día de mañana poderme colocar en una buena casa y poder ayudar a mis padres.

I take this opportunity to inform you of the misfortune that happened to Ana P., who left school without permission from the teacher or her parents.
At the corner she met her friends and had the misfortune of being hit by a truck; they had to take her to the hospital, but it was not too serious; God punished her so that she would not do it again.
It was a good example for all our classmates, and I hope it will be for you as well as it was for me.
I hope to hear from you soon and that your news is not as bad as mine.

Con motivo de la presente, es para comunicarte la desgracia ocurrida a Ana P. que se ha marchado del colegio sin permiso de la maestra ni de sus padres.
En la esquina encontró a sus amigas y tuvo la mala suerte de pillarla un camión, la tuvieron que llevar a la clinica pero por ahora no ha sido grave; Dios la castigó para que no volviera a hacerlo más.
Ha sido un buen ejemplo para todas nuestras condiscipulas y espero que para ti tambien lo va ha ser como lo ha sido para mí.
Esperqando tener pronto noticias tuyas y que no sean tan malas como las mias.

Today the city of Barcelona celebrated the 3rd anniversary of liberation with great and magnificent feasts of religious and patriotic nature that were presided by the head of state, Mr. D. Francisco Franco Bahamonde. Expected already for several days, the saviour of Spain, the Supreme General of the army, arrives; glorious flags adorn the streets and balconies of the city and announce this historic moment for Barcelona. From the first hours of the day, the popular enthusiasm is enormous; thousands of people come shouting Franco, Franco, Franco! To him who three years ago freed us from the reds, the one who gave us back the honour of being called Spanish.

La ciudad de Barcelona ha celebrado hoy el III aniversario de la liberación con grandes y lucidas fiestas de caracter religioso y patriótico que han sido presididas por el jefe del Estado Sr. D. Francisco Franco Bahamonde.
Esperado ya desde (hace) hacía varios días el salvador de España Generalísimo de los ejercitos; llega ya en esta; grandiosas banderas engalanan las calles y balcones de la ciudad y anuncían este momento histórico para Barcelona.
Desde la primera hora del día el entusiasmo popular es enorme, millares de personas acuden con los gritos de ¡Franco, Franco, Franco!; a aquel que nos liberó hace tres años de los rojos, y el que nos ha devuelto el honor de podernmos llamar españoles.
¡Franco, Franco, Franco!
