Tell the story of your school desk: trees, lumberjack, carpenter, etc. What did it see? Reflections.

France, [1882-1883]

Upon my arrival in the classroom, I am seated at a desk, which is used for writing and other activities. To make this desk, it took many workers. In the beginning, the worker who made its existence possible is the Creator. From shrub, it became a beautiful walnut, which has yielded many fruits. When old age will swell its trunk, it will be cut down by a lumberjack who will use saws and billhooks to cut the roots, wedges to break it, then sell it to the carpenter, who will use his planer to shape its thin and smooth boards. He will give it the desired shape, and once built in the form of a desk, it will be polished, and it will become the desk we will use to write on. Our desk has seen all those who took care of it to make it useful, it saw that without union you cannot achieve anything here on earth, we must help each other and support each other. Reflections. Let’s help each other, because we cannot do many jobs alone; how unhappy would we be if we hated each other.
